Green Resort
ONE OF WISCONSIN’S MOST ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FACILITIES.
With fresh air in each room, Hydronic heating, a central vacuum system, and 25% to 45% more energy efficiency, the Metropolis Resort was designed with our future in mind.
Chaos Waterpark
The big story about Chaos Waterpark takes place behind the scenes. The developers launched this park on the heels of taking home the coveted “Wisconsin’s Top 30 Projects” award for the green-friendly hotel. It also covets the 2009 "Best of Aquatics" award from Aquatics International. This waterpark is revolutionary for its green innovations.
The water cleaning system is the same system that has been used for the Summer Olympics. The park circulates 950 gallons of water a minute, purifying it seven times above the industry standard. This makes it Wisconsin’s cleanest water park, while reducing the amount of water wasted in the process.
Metropolis Resort
Our property features state-of-the-art systems you won't find in other resorts. Here is what we are doing.
Hydronic heating uses an ultra efficient water heating system for the entire building, eliminating forced air that often creates indoor air pollution.
Central vacuum system is much more powerful than an upright vacuum and captures dirt and dust in a filtered maintenance area. Your room stays fresh and clean.
EntergizeTM System Thermostat allows each Metropolis Resort guest to participate in the energy saving process. Your room's environment automatically adjusts when you are not in the room simply by inserting your key card upon exit of your room.
Energy Star TM equipment is used whenever possible and low draw lighting delivers the same bright spaces with much less energy used.
Additional Environmental Facts:
A typical water park of this size will use more than a million and a half gallons of water to backwash the pools. By using regenerative filters, Chaos Waterpark uses 10% of the normal water park amount. That saves water and energy.
The pool’s heat travels to the attached hotel. It is part of the room heating system using an advanced heat recycling system.
A new cleaning system purifies the water then places it back into the pool, saving 3,000 gallons of water each cycle (375,000 gallons a month).
The pool does not smell and the water is fresher because of an air infused cleaning system; Wisconsin's only to date.
Chaos Waterpark uses an optical people counter that adjusts the heating system in the building based on the number of people at play. The water in the attractions flows faster or slower based on the number of people using the attraction at that time.
